Case Study : The White Horse Old Marquee Hire

The Brief

In response to government guidelines surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, The White Horse (TWHO) public house wanted to create a chilled setting for safe drinking and dining spaces for their customers. Located in Old, Northamptonshire, the pub required marquee hire solutions to be used throughout the summer months and beyond, that were aligned with the TWHO brand and that could leverage the fantastic pub garden for customers to drink and dine in and enjoy, creating the warm, fun and feel-good environment that TWHO is known for.

The Challenges

Incorporate outdoor Pizza area to one side

Marquee to be connected to rear of pub so staff are covered whilst moving from kitchen

Built on mix of grass and hard surface – required anchoring solution for both

Constrained space due to existing decking area and pub boundaries

Social distancing between tables to be maintained

Balance grass & covered areas to create inside ; outside space for customers

The Solution

Following close consultation with the client Zest Marquees were able to provide a bespoke marquee garden design. All security and safety requirements were carefully considered and suitable solutions provided. The marquee solution was supplied on a medium length hire basis.

Rapid response: Time from initial consultation to client use – 3 ½ days

Bespoke solution designed and signed off on priority timescales.

Client checks and signoff carried out in accordance with client’s time-sensitive needs.

Zest Marquees provided three marquees for long term hire. A 4m x 10m attached to a 3m x 6m adjoined to external door in the pub. Plus...a 4m x 8m party marquee set opposite the main marquee to create an open, grass “courtyard” between the marquee structures. All marquees were supplied ready for Des’ creative mind to add the finishing touches. • Walled party marquees, with centre open sides on both - all sides flexible to allow for open, closed or window use • Marquee connected to existing pub with rain gutters and weatherproofing • 3m x 6m set up as canopy initially , then repurposed to enclosed walkway

Events aren’t what they used to be. Gone are the days when booking a room, serving a meal, and playing background music were enough. Today, people don’t just attend events.
